Agribusiness systems

The opportunity I found in agribusiness systems, is working at a feed store or shadowing the owner of a feed store to see how  the business side actually works or helping the student create their own business, for instance a lawn service or showing animals for people, or getting paid to break horses or cattle or train dogs

Animal systems

The SAE I found for this topic would be a student who is likes the production side of agriculture becoming a breeder or a specific breed of livestock for a purpose, when I was in high school I breed show sheep and pigs. This SAE would work in any neighborhood, as long as you can modify the animal you decide to breed like going from cattle to rabbits for someone who lives in the city limits

Biotechnology systems

I would try to find my students an internship for my students to work with a company who deals with making wormer or fly spray. This wouldn’t be a SAE I would like to incorporate, because exposing students to a lab could put them in danger in my opinion, plus it would be hard to business in the area I plan on teaching in I couldn’t find any drug companies in the area.

Cluster leadership business skills
Getting my students involved with volunteering and with doing LDE’s and CDE’s, so that my students can learn how to talk and interact in business situations I would also incorporate public speaking events to in to my class stuff.

Environmental service systems

I would find my students an internship with Texas Parks and Wildlife working hands on with people and outside. I feel this would be a great SAE, because it would be monitored and very hands on manner also deals with volunteering and learning to work with others

Food products and processing systems

I would like for one of my students to get a chance to work at a slaughter house. I would like to use this as a SAE, but in the area I want to work in I only found one big slaughter house and slaughter houses often get bad reps over nothing. I could incorporated slaughter house in to not only my SAE, but in regular introduction agriculture classes

Natural resource systems

I like this SAE, because Natural resource systems to me deals with wild animals, so I would find a place close to me that deals with wild animals being nursed back to health or studying flight patterns of birds. I found an internship with the usda

Plant systems

I would use this type of SAE for my students who are in to horticulture. I would try to find a green house or a plant grower that my students can either go volunteer at or find a paying job at a green house, so that student can get a hands on view and see how far plant systems work from seed to flower and will help students understand how important plants actually are to the environment

Power structural and technical system

I would try to find a tractor restoration business to work for, or help them get a job with a hardware store or like a company that deals with farm and ranch supplies or fence building materials. I would incorporate this SAE with my regular lessons, so my students can further understand how our lives are touched by agriculture on a daily basis.
